1、 Overview

The proven reserves of an iron mine are 86 million tons, and the average ore grade is 30.42%. The ore body occurs in biotite hornblende plagioclase feldspar gneiss 172m below the surface. The strike of the ore body is about 2000m long and the dip angle is about 50 °. The deposit is buried below the erosion base level and groundwater level, and the deposit is dominated by water filled porous rock strata. The hydrogeological and engineering geological conditions are medium. The ground of the mining area is farmland and village, and no collapse is allowed. The ore production scale determined in the preliminary design scheme is 2 million t/a. The designed mining method is stage open stoping followed by filling mining method. The designed product scheme is a single iron concentrate, and the beneficiation process scheme is a crushing and grinding process with three stages and one closed circuit. The beneficiation grade is 26.54%, the final iron concentrate recovery is 80.01%, the grade is 66.5%, the yield is 32.03%, and the annual output is 640600 tons. The investment in the whole infrastructure is nearly 500 million yuan, the quantities of shaft and roadway are 240000 m3, and the infrastructure construction period is 3 years. The mine has five shafts (main shaft, auxiliary shaft, air inlet shaft and measure shaft, north air shaft and south air shaft), which have been constructed since 2004. In September 2005, in order to make greater use of mineral resources, reduce the cost of ore mining, improve the economic benefits of the mine, and strive for the decision of early ore extraction during infrastructure construction, in order to solve the technical problems of early mining, Changsha Mining Research Institute was entrusted to carry out "early mining technology research".

2、 Main principles and measures of the study:

（1） At the initial stage of ore drawing, the safety of mine production must be considered to realize the safety work throughout the production process;

（2） The mining of mineral deposits should be considered as a whole, which should not only pay attention to production and early ore drawing, but also give consideration to long-term development;

（3） The scheme shall be practical, feasible in technology, reliable in process, convenient in management and reasonable in economy;

（4） Small quantities, low investment and low operating costs;

（5） Recycle resources as much as possible;

（6） The initial mining shall make full use of the existing development shaft and roadway engineering, and make a good connection between the initial ore drawing and normal production;

（7） In the initial stage of mining, the location with high exploration degree, high ore grade and low rock inclusion rate should be selected to achieve better first chemical ore extraction and achieve greater economic results;

（8） Effective measures shall be taken to achieve the economic benefits of initial ore drawing and promote the early completion and smooth operation of the mine.
